Fakultet za menadžment Zaječar, u saradnji sa partnerskim institucijama Economic Institute of Stanislaw Staszic University of Applied Sciences in Pila, Poland, Faculty of Economic Sciences of “1 December 1918“ University in Alba Iulia, Romania, Slobodnom zonom Pirot i Regionalnom agencijom za razvoj Istočne Srbije (RARIS), uspešno je organizovao 8.
Simpozijum je obuhvatio naučne oblasti: prirodni resursi, ekonomija, menadžment i ljudski resursi, održivi razvoj, zaštita životne sredine, energetika, organizaciono ponašanje i društveno odgovorno poslovanje i dr.
Danas nam daju možda besplatno, a sledećih godina će to koštati previše.

The Faculty of Management Zajecar, together with partner institutions Economic Institute of Stanislaw Staszic University of Applied Sciences in Pila, Poland, Faculty of Economic Sciences of “1 December 1918“ University in Alba Iulia, Romania, Free Zone Pirot and Regional Development Agency Eastern Serbia (RARIS), successfully organized the Eighth International Symposium on Natural Resources Management.
The aim of the symposium was to define main problems and suggest optimal solutions in the areas of economy and natural resources management. The symposium embraced the following scientific areas: natural resources, economics, management and natural resources, sustainable development, environmental protection, energetics, organizational behavior and corporate social responsibility, and so on.
One hundred and two researchers had sent their manuscripts for the symposium. Apart from researchers from Serbia, there were also papers by researchers from Iran, Italy, Spain and neighboring countries. The accepted papers are published in the Proceedings.
The symposium was held on Saturday, 19th May, 2018 at the Faculty of Management. The opening ceremony began at the amphitheater with the welcome speech by the Dean and chairman of the organizing committee, prof. Dragan Mihajlovic. On behalf of the rector, prof. Mica Jovanovic, the present were addressed by prof. Dragan Z. Djurdjevic, vice rector, who said:
The importance of the symposium is great because we have succeeded to impose on the authorities and the state the need to consider and manage natural resources in a different way, and to introduce the issue of natural resources into legislation. This year, the symposium is focused on agricultural production, genetically modified food, the need to preserve indigenous varieties, and to preserve all the natural domestic varieties that are becoming extinct, and which must be preserved because the future will face us with the situation when we would have to ask others to buy seeds. They are giving it to us for free today, but in the years to come they will be too costly. So, we need to take care of that area of natural security as well, pointed out prof. Djurdjevic.
The welcome speech was also given by the representative of partner institution, prof. Dragan Kostic, director of Free Zone Pirot, who said:
The blend of science and economy is very important at the moment. For years, we, from the Free Zone Pirot, have been putting an effort to participate in such gatherings and to connect science and economy. We have started a project in Pirot which we will present at the symposium. It is about that all the freights passing on the Corridor 10 switch to railway, and not to use fossil fuels in trucks. We have made calculations concerning savings and we are going to present them today.
Dr Zoran Milovanovic, representative of the Regional Development Agency Eastern Serbia, also gave a welcome speech.
The plenary lectures were held by:
Prof Nada Strbac, Dean of the Technical Faculty Bor, on the topic DEVELOPMENT OF TECHNOLOGY FOR PROCESSING THE NON-STANDARD COPPER CONCENTRATES AND OTHER COPPER BEARING RAW MATERIALS IN THE OBJECTIVE OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION, in which she presented the review of possible technological processes for processing primary raw materials based on copper, with increased contents of harmful components, possibilities for decreasing the content and method of including the obtained product in the regular technological process of copper extraction. What is also mentioned is a large number of secondary copper-based raw materials and the development of technology and technological processes for processing such materials.
Prof. Katarina Zakic, from the Faculty of Business Studies, Megatrend University, held a very interesting lecture titled HISTORICAL REVIEW OF DEVELOPMENT OF HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGEMENT IN PR CHINA.
Prof. Dragan Z. Djurdjevic from the Faculty of Civil Aviation, Megatrend University, had a lecture titled NATIONAL SECURITY ASPECT IN MANAGING PRIMARY AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTION, and prof. Dragan Kostic, director of the Free Zone Pirot, held a lecture POLLUTION REDUCTION IN TRANSPORT BY LOGISTIC CENTER PIROT.
